British Gas

Never far from home
Project Description

Client: British Gas / Hive

Creative Agency: Chi and Partners

Director: John Turner @ Acne

Editor: Gary Forrester @ MSE

Producer: Emily Hendry

Production Company: Ache

Composer: Brendan Woithe

Hive Active Heating is the clever way from British Gas to control your heating and hot water at home and also from your smartphone.

Acne’s John Turner and CHI teamed up to create an emotive and heart warming experience for a family separated at Christmas with the help of a Hive connected home. Catalyst were asked to compose an original piece of music that would accompany this short documentary.

The heartwarming tale tells the story of a dad who is working away for Christmas but still gets to turn on his family’s Christmas lights by using the new British Gas app.

The original music scored by Brendan Woithe is both impactful and magical helping tell the story up to the crescendo at the end when all the lights are seamlessly turned on.
